What Music Means to Me
What Music Means to Me
By Megan Mattheis, age 8
I like music. Music is special to me.
One of the songs I like is “Amazing Grace” because it is a nice slow song and it is special to me because my mom’s mom sang it to her when she was young. My great grandma used to play on the piano for my mom and her sister and her two brothers. The song “Amazing Grace” is a nice slow, pretty song.
Here are some other songs that I like: “Soak Up the Sun“ by Sheryl Crow, “Complicated“ by Avril Lavigne, “Cruella De Vil” by Selena Gomez is a fast song, and “The Climb“ by Miley Cirus. “Soak Up the Sun” is another slow but still again pretty song. “Complicated” is a sorta fast and sorta slow song and it is a pretty song.
Music makes makes my mom and I happy because we like to dance all around goofy and it is fun because we are mother and daughter and we are alike.
My mom wrote four songs and her mom wrote tons of songs. Music makes me feel really happy when I am sad. Sometimes music can mean sad memories like when my cousins played “Taps” on their trumpets at my grandpa’s funeral.
Whether happy or sad music makes me feel alive.
Music is sound and silence put together to create perfect harmony within my heart.
