DREW WACHTEL
DREW WACHTEL
Contributing host, radio, interviewer and musician
Drew has been a host on the Mick Shane Rock Show for a little over a year now. He creates a setting of comic relief as well as bringing you intimate and up-to-date information about local unsigned musicians and the venues from the area. Drew plays an important role in our lives as both an EMCEE, announcer, radio host, and a great musician himself. Drew has the great ability to get to the roots of the artists talent on a professional and personal level. He says, “As an interviewer I like to get to the roots, really getting to know the bands on an intimate level, finding out where they are from, what their influences are, and discovering where all their passions come from. As a “rock star” I started playing when I was 13, started with bass, and then picked up percussion along with other instruments like trombone and piano.”
Drew’s current band projects are Black Tie Propaganda where he is the drummer and backing vocalist; Dinner Dog, which is a Jazz/Fusion duet in which he is the drummer; and The Wachtstic Voyage a pet project with his younger brother where he is the drummer as well as the vocalist.
Some of Drew’s past music experiences are: Fyne Print where Drew performed bass and backing vocals; the Ron Sessum Jam he was the drummer; and back in 2000 he was also the drummer and backing vocalist for a Christian Band Called Stonehaven. This summer Drew Wachtel will be the announcer for the Kansas Chaos semi pro football team.
