BAND ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF FIFTH ALBUM TITLED BEAST
BEAST IN STORES ON FEBRUARY 22, 2011
New York, NY: DevilDriver announced today the release of their forthcoming fifth album, Beast. Beast was produced by Mark Lewis (All That Remains, Trivium, The Black Dahlia Murder) and will hit retail via longtime label Roadrunner Records on February 22, 2011.
While many bands in the modern era are already withering away by their second album and have shriveled up and died by their third, DevilDriver have proven to mutate, growing stronger, deadlier and more immortal with each successive release. Beast, which follows 2009′s Pray For Villains, finds the band refusing to compromise in their mission to deliver music that will make you feel as though you were slapped upside the head with a baseball bat. The band recorded 14 songs during the Beast sessions, with 11 or 12 tracks expected to make the final cut. Some song titles are as follows: “Dead to Rights,” “Hardened,” “Bring The Fight (To the Floor),” “Shitlist,” “Talons Out (Teeth Sharpened),” “Blur,” “You Make Me Sick (Sacred Secrets),” “The Blame Game,” “Coldblooded, “Crowns of Creation” and “Lend Myself to the Night.”
Frontman Dez Fafara himself dubbed the record their most “extreme” to date and even compared Beast to “driving a Buick Skylark 200 miles an hour straight to Vegas” in an exclusive studio report in this month’s Revolver.

The NY Film Exposure Network (NYFEN) to host its 2010 event finale on October 22nd at Room Service Lounge, 35 East 21st Street NYC (6:45pm). Over 213+ film industry insiders are scheduled to attend this event. The guest list includes; invited local celebs, film, fashion, finance, philanthropists and entertainment media professionals.
What is so great about this event for industry supporters is that it empowers the independent film community and gives back to charity. Aside from showcasing the up-and-coming, this event will benefit Children of our Villages – a non-profit that contributes to the empowerment and education of dis-advantaged children around the world affected by HIV/AIDS. Through Children of Our Villages (COOV), these children are given the opportunity to create and share their stories with the rest of the world; which helps to improve their communities and quality of life.
He has been labeled the most promising filmmaker of the year.
Highlighting this event is the premier of “Broken Clouds”, a short film, written and directed by award winning filmmaker Yuri Alves. Alves was a 2007 semi-finalist in Steven Spielberg produced “The Lot”. His films have also been Official Selections in Cannes Film Festival Short Corner. Yuri has won over 10 awards including; Wild Sound Toronto Film Festival – Best Cinematographer 2008, 24fps Film Festival – Most Promising Filmmaker, NY International Film & Video Festival – Best Feature Director.
Also to be highlighted among the NYFEN Featured 5 filmmaker showcase, is international award winning DP Piero Basso. His awards include; the prestigious TOFFIFEST Torum, La Cittadella del Corto and Empoli film festivals. In addition, other featured talents in the showcase includes; an actor, film composer, editor and special effects.

“Strength in Numbers” is the dynamic first taste of the band’s debut, The Hymn of a Broken Man, which is due in stores on January 18, 2011. The festival will take place between 12noon and 6pm on Elm St. between Washington St. and McGee St., with non-stop fun and entertainment. Admission into the festival is free! Get ready for NBC and Jerry Seinfeld’s The Marriage Ref at Festival Italiano. The show is recruiting couples to participate.
