OKLAHOMA CITY ROLLING OUT RED CARPET FOR ROCK N AMERICA


OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—Organizers of The “Rock N America” festival being held July 22-25 at the Zoo Amphitheatre and Northeast Oklahoma City’s Adventure District, will turn all of Oklahoma City into the Eighties Music capitol of the United States.

Rock N America is the largest Eighties Festival in all the United States with over 30 bands.  Headliners include Scorpions on their Final Farewell Tour, Cinderella, Twisted Sister and RATT.

Expected to draw fans from all 50 states and throughout the world to Oklahoma City, Rock N America kicks off Thursday, July 22 with a free concert inside the historical Zoo Amphitheatre. Twelve Bands will be featured with ten having Oklahoma ties.  “Anytime you have an event like this drawing thousands of people from around the country and world to Oklahoma City, we want to be able to showcase our local talent,” according to Jill Simpson, director of the state Film and Music Office. In addition, Rising Wind out of Italy will be performing along with Dirty Penny from California who will headline the free night of music.

In the park adjacent to the Zoo Amphitheatre, is a free to the public festival for all four days.  The festival will feature restaurants from Oklahoma along with other food vendors, artisans, performing arts and bands from all over the world and more. The festival grounds called the Midway will also feature a 100’ x 200’ air conditioned tent that will host 10 bands each day and will also have big screens to simulcast the music inside the amphitheatre.

Other bands scheduled to perform at Rock N America are Dokken, Warrant, Great White, Lita Ford, Slaughter, Michael Schenker Group, LA Guns featuring Tracii Guns, Firehouse, Bulletboys, Lynch Mob, Pretty Boy Floyd, Steelheart, Faster Pussycat, John Corabi, Enuff Z Nuff, Toxin, Herman Rarebell formerly of Scorpions, Axe, Texas Hippie Coalition, Lizzy Borden, Trixter and Dirty Penny.

VH 1’s Eddie Trunk will host the four day event and for the Friday show will do a special tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio. $5.00 from every ticket sold for the Friday event will go to the Ronnie James Dio Cancer Fund.

Cinderella at ROCK-N-AMERICA

CINDERELLA TO PERFORM AT ROCK N AMERICA


OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—Rock N America is proud to announce Cinderella performing at the historical Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City, OK July 22-25, 2010!

Cinderella, who formed in Philadelphia, PA in 1983 and whose hits include “Nobody’s Fool,” “Shake Me,” “Don’t Know What You’ve Got Till It’s Gone,” “Coming Home,” and “The Last Mile.”   Current lineup includes Tom Keifer, Jeff LaBar, Eric Brittingham and Fred Coury.

Cinderella, currently on tour throughout the United States will be performing with Scorpions, Twisted Sister and RATT at the inaugural festival!  Other bands scheduled to perform at Rock N America are Dokken, Warrant, Great White, Lita Ford, Slaughter, Michael Schenker Group, LA Guns featuring Tracii Guns, Firehouse, Bulletboys, Lynch Mob, Pretty Boy Floyd, Steelheart, Faster Pussycat, John Corabi, Enuff Z Nuff, Toxin, Herman Rarebell formerly of Scorpions, Texas Hippie Coalition, Lizzy Borden, Trixter, and others to be named in the upcoming days.

PM Group with Innervisions in association with Event Marketing Group are proud to announce the first annual Rock-N-America Music Festival to be held July 23-25, 2010 at the Historical Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City, OK.


Rock-N-America has put together the largest collection of Eighties Bands in the United States during this three-day festival.

Scheduled to headline Rock-N-America are Scorpions, embarking on their very last tour “Get Your Sting And Blackout,” making Rock-N-America one of their final stops in North America.

Scorpions are known for such songs as “Rock You Like A Hurricane,” “Send me an Angel,” “Wind of Change,” “No One Like You,” “Still Loving You,” and their latest single and radio hit “Raised On Rock.”   Scorpions new and final album, “Sting in the Tail” was released March 23rd via Universal Music Enterprises entered the Billboard Top 200 charts at #23 marking the bands highest chart debut in over 20 years. The album also landed at #6 on the Rock Albums chart.

The Scorpions consists of KLAUS MEINE (vocals), MATTHIAS JABS (lead guitar), RUDOLF SCHENKER (guitar), JAMES KOTTAK (drums) and PAWEL MACIWODA (bass).   The German rockers will be celebrating 40+ years in music on this final outing–set to kick off June 18 in Holmdel, NJ–that will take them around the globe through 2012, with special guests supporting along the way.

“Scorpions is a live band,“ asserts MEINE. “Totally, 200%, this band was always about live concerts. We always wanted to go on stage and play in front of our fans. From the very beginning, from the smallest clubs to the biggest arenas and stadiums around the world, the passion to be a live band has never changed.” And when asked why the band decided to retire after all these years together, SCHENKER stated, “We want to celebrate [with] a big party around the world.  We’ve had a really great career, coming out from Germany and showing people that rock can come out of Germany. I think we started as a gang built by friendship and musicality, and going and showing that the Germans can rock”

In addition to Scorpions, headlining Rock-N-America will be Eighties renowned Twisted Sister and RATT.   Over Thirty bands are scheduled to perform on two stages over the three days.  The artists include Scorpions, Twisted Sister, RATT, Dokken, Great White, Warrant, L.A. Guns featuring Tracii Guns, Faster Pussycat, Enuff Z Nuff, Lynch Mob, Bullet Boys, Toxin and more to be named a later date.
