AXIS / UNIVERSAL ANNOUNCE REGIONAL TALENT TO OPEN FOR NATIONAL ARTISTS AT BIKELAHOMA!
PRYOR, OK- Today, festival organizers announced awaited information about regional support talent to be provided for BIKELAHOMA May 21st thru 23rd in Pryor OK. BIKELAHOMA changes from 2 days of national music to 3 days in 2010. The headline talent includes THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND Friday May 21st, JACKYL Saturday May 22nd, and STEELHEART Sunday night May 23rd to close out the event. In addition to the national talent BIKELAHOMA organizers have made an alliance with the newly formed AXIS-UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP from Tulsa Oklahoma to secure the regional support talent for these exciting national artists.
AXIS / UNIVERSAL MANAGEMENT TALK ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP.
AXiS/Universal has collaborated with Bikelahoma this year to showcase regional talent. This will offer experienced bands, with an established following, another opportunity to display their craft and broaden their fan base. The AXiS/Universal stage will showcase bands from Arkansas, Texas, and of course Oklahoma. Utilizing their resources in the underground music scene, AXiS/Universal has been able to secure a host of unsigned bands based on quality, energy, and an existing fan base. Daniel Paul, A&R for AXiS/Universal, was instrumental in securing the majority of the bands. When asked why AXiS/Universal sought out specific bands, he stated, “We chose bands based on how well they would mesh with the already existing acts. We have a variety of bands. With that comes a variety of sounds. When choosing the bands, we had to make sure there would be a continuity of sound based on who was playing and when. The whole thing has to flow.”
Also added to the excitement of this announcement Jesse Dupree informed festival organizers that he would bring a guest to open for Jackyl Saturday night. Micki Free and his band AMERICAN HORSE will open for JACKYL as part of there set. “Playing on the same stage with my pard Jesse from Jackyl already feels like…like…VICTORY!!!! Hold on to your brain cells people!!! ROCK ON!” Micki’s bio can be seen by going to http://mickifree.com/bio/bio.html Jesse Dupree also noted “I would also like to remind you that Cindy Blackmon (of Lenny Kravitz’s band) is Micki’s drummer”.
