Kathleen Carnali soon to release new cd

“New CD to Come!”

Hey guys!  I pray that your new year is starting off great as you seek first God’s Kingdom in your life.  Not sure if you were affected by last week’s snow storms, but we got to see a winter wonderland in northeast.  Our plane had just landed in Washington DC when the snow began to come down hard.  We finally got on the highway and one by one, cars were spinning out and getting stranded.  We didn’t end up getting to Virginia until the next day, safe and sound praise Jesus!  The ministry there was so rich with God’s presence.  The Holy Spirit moved strong and did a powerful work in all of us.  Whew!  I feel so overwhelmingly full of Jesus, it’s awesome!!  Our last day at Virginia Military Institute was incredible and it was hard to say goodbye.  But as we continue our journey, we keep our eyes on Jesus and eagerly press on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Thank you LORD!!  Our next assignment has been made clear to us.  Beginning in February, I will start recording my next CD called, “Be Still and Know.”  My Spirit leaps with anticipation (literally) and I am so excited to watch Jesus work and prepare this CD for His Bride.  Thank you for your prayers that have so consistently covered us and are all over the music that will be released.  Hallelujah to the Lamb!!  And may he forever receive his honor, glory and praise!

“It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.” (2 Chron. 5:13-14)

Let your Kingdom come LORD… here on earth as it is in Heaven!  And may we live with its power and presence within us, around us, and through us.  Only you deserve all of our worship!

Hope to see you very soon. : )
In His love and strength,

~Kathleen

KATHLEEN CARNALI–An interview with a great lady!

KATHLEEN CARNALI–

An interview with a great lady!

{Kathleen Carnali received her calling from the Lord to spread his word to others so that we may understand the greatest gift of all.  Share the love and passion this amazing artist has for the music and the praise of our God as she travels the world to bring us love, peace, strength, and salvation by believing and trusting in him!}

Afresh: What is your name, and name your group/band/act?

Kathleen Carnali

Afresh: Where are the artists from?  What is their talent in the group?

I am originally from Weymouth, MA

Afresh: How did the band get the name?

Born with the name “Kathleen” and then married into “Carnali”  ; )

Afresh: What instrument do you play now? (If applicable)

The piano, the wooden flute, the ukulele…

Afresh: What (who) does your act/art consist of?

I either sing with a full band, a trio of instruments (drum, strings, piano) or just me on a piano.

Afresh: How would you describe your music/art/entertainment for the public audience if they have never seen you before?

I would say, rather than entertainment… it is music for the soul.

Afresh:  If you had to describe your music in three or four words, what would you call it?

spiritual, passionate, alive

Afresh: Give me some details about the group/act/art?

Afresh: What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Some would call it religous or christian music.  Truthfully, it is my hearts cry to my most gracious God.

Afresh: How long have you been performing live or making art?

Since I was about thirteen years old.

Afresh:  If you had to categorize your music, what genre would it best fit?  (Name up to three)

Christian/Pop/Rock/Worship

Afresh:  What do you feel distinguishes “an artist” from just a musician?

A musician can play a piece of music well.  An artist feels it and releases it, so others can feel it too.

Afresh: Where did you meet your group and how long have you been together now?

Since I am a solo artist, I have band members from around the country that we fly out for different events.
Most of them I have known for at least four years.

Afresh: What are your immediate music career goals? (Next 1 to 3 years.)

I am about to go back into the studio in January to record my fourth album entitled, “Be Still and Know.”
I am super excited about it, since many of these songs have been stirring in me for the year or so, just  waiting to come out!

Afresh: What has been the biggest challenge for you or the group?

Since we stay on the road for so long, getting enough time in the studio to record a full album has been somewhat of a struggle.
So I am really looking forward to some time of to do that.

Afresh: You’ve heard of the term “starving artists” before, how do you cope with major obstacles?

Well, we do our best to fully trust in God who takes care of all our needs… and he hasn’t let us down yet.

Afresh:  Do you feel the economic crunch has hurt the industry, or do you have some other promotional tips to help support your music?

I’m sure the economic crunch has affected the industry as a whole.  For us personally, we haven’t really had any major setbacks.

Afresh:  Who is your fan/customer?  Do you have a fan club or street team?

We have a pretty large demographic of people who buy my music.  Very young, to very old.  Also, anyone who is searching for God or wants a deeper relationship with him should try it.

Afresh: Art & Music has an impact on both young and old.  Everyone loves a celebrity, so what advice do you have for the youth of today?

The more you know about your creator God, the more you know about yourself.  He made you for a purpose so you can trust in him for the answers.

Afresh: What does your family think of your performance and do they support you?

Whenever I have concerts in their area, they are so amazing at getting the word out and bringing people with them.

Afresh: Thinking back, did your family carry on the same musical/artistic interests?

No, not so much or to this extent.

Afresh: Do you have your own favorite type of music and is it any different from what you play now?

Actually, I am an odd person in that area.  I really like silence.  Then I would say, my favorite is instrumental music after that.

Afresh: Do you have other interests or talents you would like to share with us?

Well, I grew up dancing, taught it for a while, and still love it.  The percussion is one of my favorite things too play.

Afresh: What has been your strong influence to continue performing?

When I see what God has done in the lives and hearts of people, through the music that he gives me, I can’t help but continue writing it, singing it, and experiencing the crazy/amazing journey he has prepared for me.

Afresh: How do you rate your live performance ability?  Do you feel better performing live or in the studio?

Goodness… not sure if I can rate myself.  haha…  I absolutely love singing and playing live better than the in the studio.  Although the studio is fun too. : )

Afresh: Does anyone in particular influence your artistic/musical talent?

Yes, Jesus and his word… all the way!

Afresh: Who does most of the song writing/art/literature? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

I do.  However, I wait for the inspiration to come first.  Then when it hits me, I go and write it all down.  New songs come at the most interesting of times.  Sometimes I am woken up from my sleep, other times I could be it in the middle of reading the Bible, and then sometimes new songs even come during concerts.

Afresh:  What image do you think your music conveys and why did you choose this type of image for your music?

It is definitely and much more wholesome image than most things today.  But I want the image I portray to really be who I am…  a girl who loves God and wants others to know about him.  I want most to reflect Jesus.

Afresh:  Someone once said write what you would want to perform over and over.  With that in mind, what song do you love to perform the most?

Probably… “Jesus over me”

Afresh: If you had to change one thing about your music/group what do you feel would be the best change to benefit the group overall and why?

Afresh:  Where would you like to see yourself within the next five years as an artist?  What are your long-term career goals?

My ultimate goal is to be faithful with what God has given me and to glorify him.  So whatever that looks like, I am ready!

Afresh: Have you ever had any strange or stalker type fans that you are aware of?  How does it affect the closeness you have with your fans, media, etc. now?

Nothing has happened too drastic that we couldn’t take care of.  Besides time constraints and privacy, I haven’t needed to pull back too much from being open.

Afresh: While getting ready to perform have you ever been interrupted by fans who snuck in to the dressing room/rehearsal?  How did you handle this?

Yes!  Well, all I can do is greet them and appreciated their enthusiasm.  Then I express my need to prepare before I go out on stage.

Afresh: What has been the worst nightmare for the group?  How did you get through it all?
At the middle of a concert all the power went out in the city.  So we grabbed all our accoustic instruments and did the rest of the concert .
It ended up being a pretty amazing night!

Afresh: What are your up-to-date performance plans?  New releases?  Tours? News?

We just got back from an amazing tour over in Israel!  It was truly unbelievable.  Our next project is going back in the studio for the next CD.

Afresh: If you could perform with anyone in the world, either dead, alive, or broke-up who would it be? Why? (Name up to three)

I would have to say… Jason Upton.

Afresh: What is the furthest show from your home that you have done?

Hmmm… probably in South Korea

KATHLEEN CARNALI SHARES NEWS FROM OCTOBER TOUR

This past month has been full of wonderful ministry across Indiana and through Ohio, with our most recent stop being at Malone University.  Not only was this past tour rich with God’s presence, but we also had some miraculous healings as well.  It was very exciting to see! : )

“…They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Have you ever been in a situation where you just don’t know what to do?  -Where nothing seems to be going right around you?  -You feel discontented, yet you don’t even know exactly what it is that you are wanting.  Or maybe you know what it is, but your circumstances just aren’t working out the way that you thought they would?  Maybe you felt like you heard from the Lord, but now find yourself questioning whether it was his voice or yours that was speaking.  Or maybe you are where God wants you to be, but you find yourself struggling with being “still” and knowing or waiting on God.  I don’t really know why I am even writing this or asking these questions to you right now, besides the fact that God’s Spirit is leading.  We so easily quote the verse (Isaiah 40:31) that is stated above, without really living what it is calling us to do.  Sometimes being still and waiting on God is the hardest thing of all.  Or, it is even possible to get stuck in that place of waiting and use it as an excuse not to be involved with the church or active in serving.  It definitely can go both ways.  But what I want to encourage you in today is this:  Realize the magnitude of what the verse is saying and the importance of waiting on God for his timing.  With that, let me quote the verse again only this time with more of it’s context:

“Why sayest thou… My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?  Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength…”

If you have found yourself getting ahead of God or finding that once again you are hitting a wall, know this:  You can’t go back and change your past.  However, you can repent from it, turn from it, die to it, and wait upon the Lord’s leading.  No man is an island, so always remember that there is wisdom in the council of many.  Therefore, humble yourself before God and men and seek out wisdom from those whom you’ve seen live a pattern of walking strong and faithful with the Lord.  And never forget, Jesus works out ALL things for the good of those who love him and are called according to HIS purpose.  So let your discouragement melt away.  Where there is Truth, there is Life!

We are now in Florida preparing for our trip across the ocean, over to Israel.  I’m not sure how much computer access we will have over there during the next few weeks, but I will do my best to post pictures and updates on my website and Facebook as often as I can.  I love you so very much and ask that you would remember to pray for us and our ministry in Israel.

All love in Christ Jesus,
~Kathleen

9/22/10 – Update – “Refreshed by His Presence”

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)

Have you ever been refreshed by the presence of the Lord?  Since the day I first repented and put my trust in Christ as Savior, God has given me times of refreshing when I worship him and his presence comes and fills the room.  People ask me often, “How do you keep going so strong, from place to place, pouring out all the time yet not getting worn out.”  The answer is so easy.  The whole reason that I can pour out like that is because he first pours into me.  God’s word is so rich and his presence so full, that it never stops flowing and as long as I am connected to him, I will never run dry!  In fact, the more empty of myself I become, the more room inside of me he has to fill.  I have never, in all the years of my walk with Christ, ever felt a sense of being “burnt out” from ministry as they say.  I know that would happen really fast if I start to rely on my own strength or flesh for too long.  But when we finally come to the end of ourselves, and surrender to him and say, “not by my will or strength, but by thy will and power let it be done,” the burden is lifted.  I love the saying, “Do your best and leave the rest!”  Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of that, because though God looks for our obedience in every situation, he is the one who will ultimately determine the outcome.

I just recently returned from a woman’s retreat in Challis, ID.  It was a powerful weekend to say the least.  We had a time of anointing and worship on Saturday night that completely captivated us all through the power of his Spirit.  His presence filled the room in such a way, that time meant nothing and I couldn’t even tell how long we stayed there.  I think most of us would have camped out in that room all night if we could have.  As I slowly came to an end with playing the music and praying, I went to get up from my keyboard so I could leave the platform area, but I could not stay standing up.  I had to crouch down on my hands and knees and crawl back to my piano bench.  I laid my head face down and could only literally tremble at his holy, powerful, and loving presence.  We stayed there in silence for who knows how long.  Once again, I was blown away at the mighty work of God.  And once again, I was refreshed by his presence.

Our next stop is in Lexington, Virginia on September 24th at “Jackson Memorial Hall.”  See the website for times and details.  I love you very much and hope soon “…that I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.” (Rom. 15:32)

In Jesus Name,
~Kathleen

8/31/10 – Update – “Stepping into September”

Hello everyone!  As summer is coming to an end and school is starting back up again, I pray that this email finds you very blessed and not too stressed. : )  I know we all have a lot going on right now as well as much ahead of us.  May God give us peace and strength to walk in grace, fulfill all that we need to and be anxious for nothing…  though it is sometimes not so easy!  I think of the scripture that says, “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  Ahhhh… that is good.  In God’s truth, I rest.  He is the only one that can truly keep our minds at rest.  For the past few weeks, Brett and I have been going through transition as we move our home base from Nashville to FL.  We have a new PO Box address, which is:  Kathleen Carnali Ministries, PO Box 8892, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34985.  Beginning in September, we hit the road once again and head to the Northwest.  I’ll be leading worship this Sunday at Morningside Church in PSL, FL, after that we fly out to Utah and have a concert in Salt Lake City and then we head further up north for a Woman’s Retreat in Idaho.  You can see more details and dates on the Tour calendar at the website.  A scripture that has been stirring strong in my heart this week is, Micah 6:8, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God…”  So as we step into September, may we be reminded of this verse and be purposeful to hide it in our hearts, and live what it says.

We are so grateful for your mercy upon us LORD.  We humble ourselves before you now, and pray that your truth, justice, grace, hope and charity would pour over us, work through us and rest upon us… as we rest upon you.

We love you!! : )

In Jesus’ Awesome Name,
~Kathleen

Music brings people all ages together, and sometimes people call it the center to the soul for “WHEN WORDS SPEAK IN A WHISPER, MUSIC SPEAKS LOUD AND PROUD!!!”
